My point is this: I hope that the joy of feeding others around you is more of a priority now than it was before you read my book.
There are many opportunities in our lives to do good for others and to allow others to do good for us. When we feed others, the Lord looks on and sees our hearts, and He is pleased that we have had a hand in making sure people are fed. Jobs are just jobs. People are forever. Make time and give thanks for every opportunity to sit down with those you love.
PEOPLE GOTTA EAT. Remember to - Feed your family. Feed your friends. Feed those you work alongside. Our relationships provide food for each of us. Be a source for others to bring peace, love and joy to their lives. Be a giver. Let us give thanks to God for our many blessings.

Optimist Club of Perdido Bay on January 10th, 2026!
When Reverend Dan Pastor of Lillian Methodist Church and VP of Programs for the Optimist Club of Perdido Bay invited me back in September to be the guest speaker and have a book signing at the Club's breakfast on Saturday January 10th, I was humbled, teary eyed and so excited!

Thank you to everyone that stopped by Bake My Day for my book signing! I loved seeing old friends, family and meeting new friends—Mrs. Pam, Paula & Kevin, Tammy, Teresa and Christy! Such a special place! If you’ve not been by for lunch in or take out, encourage you to! Sweetest owners and staff! Lunch was delicious! Lots of options homemade frozen casseroles and soups to go too! My recent book signing at Press & Co. in Daphne was truly a memorable experience. I had the pleasure of reconnecting with longtime friends, meeting many new faces, and hearing wonderful stories about what brought people to this special community. The warm hospitality and welcoming atmosphere made the event one I will always cherish.
Guests enjoyed some of Press & Co.'s delicious offerings, including their famous chicken salad with pita bread, the refreshing Sunrise Smoothie, fresh blueberry muffins, and homemade cookies. Between the great conversations and wonderful company, we became so engaged that we once again forgot to take all the photos we intended!
The day itself could not have been more beautiful, with sunshine, a gentle breeze, and the perfect setting for gathering with readers and friends. I loved seeing Team Beaumont, David's Pam and precious kids, Mayor Jamie, Russell w/ Richton News, old friends Teresa, Cathy, Carolyn, and meeting new friends. I love the stories shared and look forward to gathering up and following up! Beautiful ferns, table ready, Hannah’s fresh fruit, Bake My Day cookies, cold bottled water - a beautitul experience! Conde-Charlotte House Museum

My book signing for *People Gotta Eat: Stories of Groceries and Grace* at the historic Condé-Charlotte Museum House was truly a special experience. When Jim, Kim, and Ann graciously invited me to host an event there, I knew it would be a wonderful venue. What I didn't realize was just how breathtaking the property would be—from the beautifully preserved historic home to the charming patio and garden spaces that provided the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of stories and fellowship.
One of the greatest joys of every book signing is the opportunity to reconnect with old friends while meeting new ones, and this event was no exception. The conversations, shared memories, and warm hospitality made the day especially meaningful and reminded me once again of the power of storytelling to bring people together.
For anyone interested in history, the Condé-Charlotte Museum House and nearby Fort Condé are treasures well worth visiting. Located near the banks of the Mobile River, the museum began as Mobile's first courthouse and jail before becoming the home of the Kirkbride family. Today, it stands as a beautifully preserved historic house museum featuring antiques and period furnishings that reflect Mobile's unique history under five flags: French, English, Spanish, Confederate, and American. Visitors can explore the rich and complex history of the Gulf Coast through guided tours that trace Mobile's development from its European colonial roots to its role in American history and the Civil War. The museum is owned, preserved, and operated by the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of Alabama and serves as an important steward of the region's heritage.
I am deeply grateful to everyone who attended the book signing and to the dedicated team at the Condé-Charlotte Museum House for their generosity and hospitality. It was an unforgettable day, and I encourage anyone visiting Mobile to experience this remarkable piece of history for themselves.
